Meet the talented people who make Roots of Grace Cambodia go.
Seng is a biblically trained pastor who spent many years as a teacher and also holds a master’s degree in business. Seng is a humble servant of God who has a burden for the people living on the streets and desperately wants them to know and experience the love of Christ. In his free time, Seng likes to exercise in the park and spend time with his family out in the village.
Chris and Heidi left their four grown children and the comforts of America to serve kids and families living on the streets in Cambodia. In the States, Chris was the Executive Director of Operations for a large church and Heidi was a dental hygienist. They have learned Khmer, the language of Cambodia, and love being out on the streets talking with the Cambodian people as well as spending time with the kids at the ministry center.
Similar to our program director Seng, Pov is trained as a pastor and holds a master’s degree. He is a gifted teacher that teaches our students English, helps them with their homework all while pointing them to Jesus. Additionally, Pov loves to teach kids in the village about Jesus.
Arriving to pick up kids each day as early as 5:30 am takes love and dedication. Transporting them by Tuk Tuk to and from school and home safely regardless of weather takes concentration and skill. Nak accomplishes that always with a smile on his face.
Reacheney is the first staff face the children of Roots of Grace see most mornings as she is out on the streets before sunrise to pick them up, sometimes having to wake them and then escort them to our ministry center where she helps get them ready for school. Reacheney holds a bachelor’s degree, teaches English to our students and loves music.
Sokvy makes every room she’s in better with her kind heart, gentle spirit and warm smile. Being biblically trained, Sokvy not only teaches the Bible each day but leads both adults and kids alike in worship.
Cooking 2 meals each day for 20 hungry kids, daily washing their clothes and uniforms in addition to cleaning the ministry center and getting the kids ready for school is a lot of work and takes a servant’s heart. Fortunately for Roots of Grace, we have Tha that does all of that and so much more!
